Carly Ruiz
Extra Elite Ranking #86

Carly is currently a Sophmore at St. Lucy’s High School in Glendora, CA.

Write-up from ExtraInning Softball:

Carly is a speedy outfielder with a tremendous upside. She is quickly improving her power and mental game, a key component to playing against elite competition for coaches Tony Rico and Rob Weil. Carly attends St. Lucy’s Priory (Glendora, California) High and bats at the top of the lineup as a dangerous slapper. She also runs track and lettered last year in seven events including the 100 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters, long jump (a best of 16’3”), triple jump, 4×100 and 4×100.

Zoe King
Extra Elite Ranking #42

Zoe is currently a Sophmore at Marina High School in Huntington Beach, CA.

Write-up from ExtraInning Softball:

Zoe is a line-drive hitting catcher with an extremely high softball IQ. She plays the game with a manager’s mind and makes any pitching staff that she works with that much better. Zoe is a great pitch caller and is trusted completely by Coaches Tony Rico and Rob Weil to call a game. She frames the ball beautifully and really makes her pitcher look good. Offensively, Zoe has good eye and draws a lot of walks but is also an excellent gap hitter and strokes a lot of doubles. In a January spring season tournament, she went 8-for-13 (.615) with the Firecrackers before the team went dark. Zoe is currently on the 18U Greek National Team scheduled to play in Colorado as part of the International Challenge and her family is working on getting her citizenship to compete for the National team to play in next year’s Olympic Games in Tokyo. Zoe has had interest from ACC, Big Ten, Pac-12 and SEC programs.

Kennedy Bunker
Extra Elite Ranking #28

Kennedy is currently a Sophmore at Westlake High School in Westlake, CA.

Write-up from ExtraInning Softball:

Kennedy is a pure hitter with a sweet left-handed swing and defensively she rarely makes a mistake. For her Westlake (Westlake Village, California) High team last year she had 209 chances and only made two errors—a .990 fielding percentage. Offensively, she batted .408 as a freshman and was hitting .667 with two home runs and five RBIs through five games this spring before the season was cancelled. Kennedy is coming off of a knee injury which kept her out during the fall season, but she is expected to be ready for when play resumes post-COVID-19 stoppage. One top West Coast coach said, “She has what you can’t teach and as she develops, the sky is the limit.” When not behind the plate, Kennedy is a lock-down first baseman. She will have Top 25-caliber schools calling her in September when the contact period begins

Emily Jones
Extra Elite Ranking #11

Emily is currently a Sophmore at Westlake High School in Westlake, CA.

Write-up from ExtraInning Softball:

Emily is a triple threat lefty hitter with a very high and competitive IQ, which is what puts her close to the Top 10 in the 2022 player rankings. She can run the infield defensively and is a table-setting leadoff hitter with multiple skills to get on base. Emily has played softball for a decade and has quickly moved up the charts as a prospect with a very high ceiling. She was 1st Team All-County and All-Area for Westlake (Westlake Village, California) High after hitting .462 with 34 runs scored in 26 games last year. When not playing herself, Emily is involved with mentoring 10U and 8U players in a local softball rec league. She will get a lot of looks this summer and fall playing for Tony Rico and Rob Weil’s 18U team.
